Our Foster Carers
At Progress, we recognise the challenging and complex role of our foster carers. We carefully select only those people whom demonstrate their skills and experience in looking after vulnerable children. Our carers are all expected to undertake comprehensive training essential in meeting the needs of individual looked after children.
Our carers undergo a strict code of recruitment selection and assessment process, involving statutory checks and medicals prior to approval and registration. This whole process takes many months thus enabling the social worker to work closely with prospective carers to establish a working ethos measuring strengths and weaknesses, and gain in depth knowledge on how they function as individuals and within their families.
Our carers represent a wide range of backgrounds, thus enabling us to more suitably cater for the diversity of the looked after children and young people.
